Jim Letten Bumper Stickers

U.S. Attorney Jim Letten is like a rock star in New Orleans right now. He's one of the very few public figures who is not a complete disaster. It's fairly easy to stand out when you're surrounded by such a bunch of incompetent leaders. Letten's name has started to come up more and more in talks about future elections in Louisiana, so why not encourage him to run with some grassroots bumper stickers?

Bumper stickers are Jim Letten for Congress, Jim Letten for Senate, Jim Letten for Mayor, and Jim Letten for President.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I created these bumper stickers. The Letten stickers have sold adequately but have not really taken off yet. Follow the links if you're interested in buying any of the stickers. I've done some new ones and haven't updated this blog yet - please check back frequently or subscribe to my feed. Thanks for the comment.

subject: Current news articles on future of New Orleans U.S. Atty Jim Letten in light of newly-elected Obama
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Several articles, including a November 12th article by T/P writer, James Gill praise U.S. Attorney Jim Letten. The articles also reverberate dismay about the loss it would be toward targeting longstanding New Orleans corruption if President-Elect Barack Obama replaced Letten in keeping with his new presidential administration. I disagree.
Letten’s employment with the Justice Department appears to encompass the Louisiana region, although he is involved with other States -like a Texas case wherein a judge’s Opinion included details of aberrant actions by Letten. But, there are more than enough glaringly questionable things Letten does in New Orleans. (See the Opinion starting from pages 29 through 41 at http://www.txs.uscourts.gov/notablecases/498cr18/98cr18_opin.pdf. )
Ostensibly, Letten covered up federal Judge Thomas Porteous’ acts pertaining to the “Operation Wrinkled Robe” scandal of which Porteous’ 2 fellow judges, sheriffs and various other people went to jail. Moreover, I don’t doubt that the Intelligence on Porteous’ function with wrinkled robes was “doctored” prior to being turned over to Washington, and thus hindered Porteous’ indictment. But Letten’s office conceals VARIOUS OTHERS who are abusing their positions (see proof at: http://www.lawgrace.org) in New Orleans courts!! Also, though it is undeniable that lawyers gave bribes to Porteous, the lawyers’ identities not only were concealed, no disciplinary actions were taken. Currently, if Congress agrees, Porteous will make national history by being the first federal judge to be impeached in almost 2 decades. Similarly, Letten perhaps has the devotion (and whatever else) of U.S. Senator David Vitter and “Johns’ named in the Canal Street Brothel book after the raid, because of never being exposed nor subject to local or federal prosecution.
There is no delight in spotlighting someone’s faults, as all humans are fallible. But it is another matter when public harm looms. Comparatively, there was public outrage and demand for the resignation of Letten’s former boss, former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales! It infuriates me if Mr. Letten, (Mr. Vitter -and ANY other cloaked public official) receives accolades while clandestinely involved in deception -in like manner as guzzling, well respected Wall Street tycoons. (I once supported Letten as well as Porteous. Further, the facts and evidence prove that of all the acts of public corruption, nothing is more far-reaching and socially lethal as judicial corruption.)
Letten’s tactics and potency against the average citizen easily could be as constricted, invasive, subjugating, and baseless as that time when the door of Jacques Morial, brother of Marc Morial (of the National Urban League and former mayor of New Orleans), was busted down; and the Feds maintained control of that man’s life and privacy for 3 years, but criminal charges were never lodged against Jacques. Letten (or his kind) could pretextly do the same to any other citizen, as Gonzales’ method of illegal wiretaps is likely also Letten’s method, but postulated as derived from snitches for use as leverage over people to get them to say / do what benefits rich and powerful corrupt Louisianians. Thus, I am mildly concerned that New Orleans could become a city under siege if Jim Letten becomes able to obtain and manage information collected by New Orleans’ Inspector General Robert Cerasoli.
Barbara Ann Jackson doesn't speak for me and the rest of eastern district (ie terrebonne and Lafourche parishes which I work). We're keeping Jim Letten. I sent Obama 10 cards requesting that he let Jim Letten stay....This isn't a "white" or "black" matter (like some blacks portray it to be) it is an anti-corruption matter and the new FBI special agent in charge means businness as well.
This wasn't solely Landrieu's and even Vitter's decision alone. It is the will of the people!!! I, for one, am sick of Louisiana's parochial and insular minded ways and so is the federal government.
They are not doling out federal funds like they used to anymore because Louisiana's political corruption has started to stink down wind again. Louisiana and all the nepotism, the corruption and the cronyism is starting to stink once again like fresh sh*t on a hot summer's day in the bayou.
The citizens of Louisiana are to willing to give in to "willful ignorance" and they are too willing to give into "political powerlessness" in exchange for the building of yet another casino (which only pays lazy, lousy crappy jobs). The people of Louisiana should be outraged a what is going on in this state but instead they cater to the parochial politics that is fed to them (ie "the white politicians are not as corrupt as the black ones" or "the black politicians are not as corrupt as the white ones were when they were in charge and besides they only learned at the feet of their masters" or "your parish is more corrupt than my parish" or this one: "the politicians in my parish may be corrupt but at least they fix the steets"....and so on and so forth).
You all allow yourself to be willful victims. See I write Congress, I write the Justice Department and the President and no matter what the color of these crooked politicians I talk to the federal government about them. I just recently filed several complaints with the Justice Department so hopefully the FBI will sniffing on some politicians' coat tails!!!!!
It is a shame that blacks (YES I am a black female)only want to march in New Orleans but yet when a blatant civil rights violation occurred in Garyville no one took the time to write a letter to the Justice Department but me and the reason I found out about the act of "voter intimidation" was when the Times Picayune wrote a story on it. But yet, but yet, blasks want to march against black-on-black crime....What a freaking joke and most of their organizations and churches are a joke!!! I told the N.O. NAACP president of that chapter that I would never join such organizations. I believe in getting involved at a higher level. Marching doesn't do a damn thing for a community. That is 1960's shidt!!! This is 2009 last I checked and those outdated methods will not cut the cake!!!! Write letters to Congress!!! Write letters to the Justice Department!!! Write letters to the President of the United States!!! Attend political functions!!!! There are all sorts of political functions coming up from the jefferson Jackson Dinner in Alexandria to the YDA 2 day rally in Houston to Howard Deans Democracy for America event in North Louisiana.
Quit being willfully ignorant and quit letting your Louisiana politicians play on your local prejudices and your regional attitudes and quit accepting political powerlessness and a shallow learning curve!!!! Quit being so parochial and so insular!!!!! Just say NO to lazy thought!!! Just say NO to Louisiana's parochial politics!!!!!
Please create some t-shirts....I will buy some!!!! Not all Blacks are anti-Jim Letten as a lot of people in the eastern district would believe you to be....
Happy Memorial Day to my fellow vets and their families and all those who served in the Armed Forces--living and deceased.
You do know that if Jim Letten even does hint that he is willing to run for political office while he is an appointed U.S. Attorney then he will be forced to resign or even retire It would be in violation of the Hatch Act.
I bought the Jim Letten sticker for several reasons: simply because people are gonna wonder who in the world he is. Black will know that a black woman supports Jim letten and finally asking him to run for mayor is simply a snub at Mayor C. Ray "mlik dud" Nagin. We need Jim in the capacity that he is in already. Maybe when he retires from the Justice Department then he can consider a run for mayor to supplemennt his federal retirement pension because I can assure you that he makes more money and has much more fun as a member of the Justice Department busting the heads of all evil doers than he could ever have as excciting of a time as mayor (of New Orleans??).
